Loppet TRAIL KIDS Family Picnic
July 31, 2018 – Wirth Beach
Loppet members, If you want to see what the Loppet Foundation is all about – this is the event for you! TRAIL KIDS and the Age Gap Relays are the Loppet Mission in action: “create a shared passion for year-round outdoor adventure in the Minneapolis area, focusing on underserved youth and families.” Loppet members are invited to come cheer on Loppet youth and families and to get involved as a pedaling partner in the Age Gap Relays.
The TRAIL KIDS Family picnic features the final mountain bike race of the TRAIL KIDS Series and invites adults and youth from the Trail Kids programs including Junior Loppet teams from Franklin, Anwatin and Northeast middle schools, to participate in the ultimate fun mountain bike relay – Age Gap Relay. Riders of every skill level will have a great time in this short four lap relay event on the Theodore Wirth learning area. Adults are paired with youth from Junior Loppet programs, TRAIL KIDS, or their own children in this celebration of the mountain biking season. We will finish the evening with food (we are supplying the protein, please bring a salad or sides to share), family and awards for the overall Adventure Bike Race Series.
Adults wishing to be Age Gap Relay partners should contact Allie Rykken at email@example.com.
We meet at Wirth Beach for Age Gap Relay. We will ride Tornado Alley or Glenwood Spur loop. The Age Gap relay must be done with an adult/mentor that is at least 10 years older in order to participate.
